Need Help Downloading?
Downloading the RescueTime Data Collector for Mac is pretty simple. Just click on the "Download Mac Data Collector Now" link. If prompted, go ahead and save the file to somehwere you can remember (like your desktop) Otherwise it'll likely save it to your Downloads folder in your Home directory. Once you've successfully downloaded it, you'll need to go to that location and double-click the RescueTimeInstaller.dmg file.
Need Help Installing?
To install RescueTime after downloading (detailed above), you have to go to the location that you downloaded the file to and double-click the "RescueTimeInstaller.dmg" file. Then drag the RescueTime plus icon to the right, into the Applications folder. After RescueTime has copied to your applications folder, you can start it by opening the Applications folder located in your Macintosh HD and double clicking on the RescueTime application icon.
Once RescueTime is running, you should see the RescueTime Data Collector represented as a "black plus" in your menu bar (at the top of the screen, next to the clock). You'll also see it appear in your dock. That means it's running (though you still need to configure it-- that's the next step). If the Data Collector window isn't already open, you can open it now by clicking on the plus in the menu bar and selecting Preferences.
